Job Description

A leading hospitality group is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join the culinary team at one of its highend restaurant concepts in Malta. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of classic French cuisine refined technique and a commitment to excellence. This is a unique opportunity to work in an elevated designforward dining environment that merges heritage creativity and luxury service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in the daytoday running of kitchen operations.

  • Lead by example in preparing and presenting dishes rooted in highend classic French culinary tradition.

  • Supervise train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency and high performance.

  • Contribute to menu development bringing creativity while honoring French techniques and seasonal ingredients.

  • Maintain strict hygiene HACCP compliance and food safety standards.

  • Manage kitchen inventory assist with purchasing and support cost control measures.

  • Ensure excellent coordination between kitchen and frontofhouse teams to deliver a seamless dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fine dining including at least 2 years as a Sous Chef or equivalent leadership role.

  • Proven expertise in classic French cuisine is required.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Strong leadership communication and team development skills.

  • High attention to detail with a passion for plating and presentation.

  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced highpressure kitchen environment.

  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays.
