Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of an IFD Support Officer on a 3.5month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 14.34 18.73 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with those people who access or need the service including children and families members of the public internal departments and professionals from other agencies.
  • Undertake an initial assessment of the children and families needs. This will include engaging with children carers and relevant agencies many of whom will have complex and multiple needs. Analyse information provided and make recommendations of ongoing support that will be required according to the level of need identified.
  • Manage an inbox with support from an Advanced Social Worker. Assess needs risks and options taking into account legal and other requirements. Provide tailored information.
  • Use knowledge skills and initiative to obtain comprehensive detail from referrers and pursue lines of enquiry to gather the most relevant information at the first point of contact.
  • Triage incoming requests for support to ensure they are progressed to the most appropriate service in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grades 94 or AC) or equivalent qualification or experience operating at this level of literacy and numeracy.

Experience Required:

  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to others.
  • Experience of working under pressure and in line with strict timescales.
  • An understanding / awareness of the role of IFD MASH and Safeguarding.
  • Experience of applying relevant legislation policies and procedures to
    individual pieces of work.
  • Experience and understanding of identifying a range of interventions in working with children and their families.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
