The Company
My client is a national leader in the criminal justice sector delivering rehabilitation and residential programmes designed to reduce reoffending and homelessness. They work with individuals who have experienced offending substance misuse mental illness homelessness and longterm unemployment. Through structured and supportive programmes participants are guided to overcome personal challenges develop life skills build confidence and resilience and transition into stable employment and housing. In addition to this work my client also operates a community caf and manages a regional food redistribution centre supporting communities in need.
The Role
This position involves managing an Academy workshop within HMP Buckley Hall and engaging with my clients rehabilitation programmes. The role includes supporting participants by fostering strong work ethics offering mentoring training and guidance and helping them progress into training accommodation and sustainable employment to ultimately reduce reoffending.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daytoday operations of the Academy within the prison.
Supervise participants involved in the programme.
Ensure implementation and adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the prison and community settings.
Ensure compliance with prison regulations.
Manage inventory and coordinate deliveries/collections to maintain productivity.
Motivate staff and maintain a professional and supportive environment.
Acquire indepth knowledge of Academy operations.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to participants.
Assist in practical tasks such as dismantling loading and unloading when necessary.
Complete required reports promptly and accurately.
Coordinate with relevant departments regarding participant progress and support needs.
Manage participant recruitment into the Academy including applications and interviews.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all storage and work areas.
Complete and maintain prison vetting clearance.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Desirable
Uptodate prison vetting clearance.
Familiarity with programmes such as Microsoft Excel.
Experience or understanding of the justice sector and rehabilitative work.
Insight into challenges faced by individuals with multiple barriers to employment.
Previous operational management experience.
Full UK driving licence.
