The Role:
- Responsible for managing a team of financial crime SMEs:
- Ensure that the team is efficient properly trained and adheres to all company policies and regulations
- Setting goals developing work schedules allocating resources and determining priorities
- Conduct performance evaluations provide feedback and address any performance issues or conflicts that may arise
- Tasked with identifying assessing and understanding the risks associated with financial crimes. This includes money laundering fraud and other illicit activities. And constantly trying to optimize along with the SMEs the procedures and the means through which the team is performing their tasks
- Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations related to financial crime. This includes staying updated on any changes to these laws and regulations and implementing necessary changes to the companys policies
- Generate and present regular reports on the teams activities and findings. These reports may be used by senior management to make strategic decisions
- Responsible for the ongoing training and development of their team. This involves keeping the team updated on new types of financial crimes and the latest methods for detecting and preventing them
- May also be involved in developing and updating the companys policies related to financial crime. And should also be able to track key performance indicators evaluate outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Might be often required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as senior management AMLROs and law enforcement agencies
- Continuously seek to improve the processes and strategies used by the team to combat financial crimes. This could involve implementing new technologies or methodologies
- Interacting with other FCMU members to:
- Oversee and manage financial crime cases ensuring they are handled efficiently and effectively
- Oversee or directly involved in investigating suspicious activities
Your Profile:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Criminal Justice or a related field; advanced degree is a plus
- Experience in Financial Crime transaction monitoring fraud prevention antimoney laundering (AML) or a related field
- Leadership or management experience is required
- Strong leadership and management skills are essential. Other key skills include analytical thinking attention to detail problemsolving decisionmaking and excellent communication abilities
- Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and preparing reports
- Ability to work independently under pressure and as part of a bigger team in a fastpaced environment
