Classification/Salary: Management Band 4: Position starts at $100231 to $125289 annually

The purpose of the Indigenous Relations Department is to plan support coordinate and advance Cultural Safety through research & development continuous business improvement initiatives and priorities identified by the Indigenous Advisory Committee Leadership or provincial mandate.
About the opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing team to advance reconciliation activities within the disability sector and with Indigenous partners across the province
As the Manager Indigenous Agreements Services & Partnerships you will lead initiatives across the province collaborating closely with all teams to advance CLBCs relationships with First Nations Mtis Inuit partners Indigenous service providers and urban Indigenous agencies. This dynamic role focuses on service design and Indigenous partner engagement to support our goal of: Service Delivery to Support Cultural Safety. The successful candidate will work with a moderate level of independence overseeing the negotiation development and maintenance of Indigenous partnerships and agreements.
Duties include:
- Establishing and sustaining effective working relationships with First Nations Metis and Indigenous organizations key provincial organizations and authorities in BC
- Negotiating on behalf of CLBC a variety of agreements including protocol funding MOU and servicerelated agreements
- Designing and implementing strategies aimed at raising CLBCs profile with Indigenous Partners and Service Organizations ensuring that they have a comprehensive understanding of CLBCs service model
- Responsible for the Indigenous Services Canada file which includes liaison with MSDPR and Indigenous Services Canada
- Leading the development of CLBCrelated frameworks policies and processes for business and partnership building with Indigenous partners
- Mentoring and supporting team members including supporting crossteam collaboration development of a positive learning organizational culture within and across teams and building the capacity of team members to demonstrate leadership and fulfill the teams mandate
- Providing leadership and direction to a growing team of Indigenous focused facilitators including recruitment training performance management leave approvals discipline and responding to staff grievances
What you will bring:
- Minimum of a bachelors degree in a related field alongside a minimum of 5 years experience working in both the government systems and with Indigenous Peoples in the community. A combination of education work experience lived experience and relevant skills will also be considered
- A minimum 1 3 years of experience leading teams (including strong project leadership) in both the Indigenous Services Sector and the Community Living Sector
- A deep understanding of the various jurisdictions is critical
- Preference may be given to candidates:
- Who selfidentify as Indigenous with the required combination of education and experience
- With experience in negotiation and/or mediation with Indigenous communities and a general understanding of conflict resolution processes and theory
- With experience in the development and/or analysis of legislation regulation and policy that affects Indigenous people and/or communities
We are also looking for:
- A high level of knowledge and understanding of BC Indigenous issues including the history and impact of residential schools intersections of disability with culture and steps to implement the Provincial Governments mandated Calls to Action
- Familiar with the structure and operation of developmental disability supports and services in B.C.
- Ability to lead manage and provide effective supervision to team members
- Understand traumainformed practice
- Familiar with the elements of Indigenous meeting protocols
- Deep understanding and ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative and constructive relationships with Indigenous people partners and communities
- Proficient in contract management
Location: This position can work from any CLBC office.
Travel: Regular overnight travel to communities within the CLBC catchment area and to CLBC Head Office in Vancouver is required for this role. Possession of a Class 5 drivers license and a clean drivers abstract is required.
