The Rehab Services Secretary is an integral member of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing essential administrative and billing support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role is responsible for collecting and verifying insurance information assisting with billing processes and managing front desk duties including scheduling and patient communication. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent multitasking abilities capable of handling a fastpaced clinical environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient service.

Performs duties as rehab services receptionist and completes clerical tasks under the supervision of the manager/designee.
Displays friendly and courteous behavior to patients visitors families and other personnel.
Demonstrates computer proficiency and competent use of computer programs as appropriate.
Demonstrates positive customer relation skills.
Orders supplies for rehab department
Picks up sorts and routes mail for department staff.
Communicates with other members of the healthcare team in order to ensure coordination of services with other departments.
Performs duties to maintain rehab services with needed materials.
Requests services for Biomedical Buildings and Grounds and Environmental Services.
Monitor and manage the denial work queue to address billing issues; document actions taken and make necessary adjustments.
Review and verify time code charges in EPIC; assist with ensuring accurate billing of services.
Generate and distribute reports for charge sheets to support accurate revenue tracking.
Provide assistance to patients regarding insurancerelated inquiries and concerns.
Support the manager with timekeeping functions and related reporting tasks.
Prepare and complete reports as assigned by the manager staying within defined scope.
Process invoices as directed by the manager to ensure timely and accurate billing.
Stay current with insurance policy changes and payer updates to maintain compliance and billing accuracy.
Maintains current telephone listings
Maintains a supply of new charts. Labels patients chart with patient identification.
Enters patient charges and completes charge reconciliation process per policy.
Demonstrates a working knowledge and utilization of resources regarding medical necessity codes and Advances Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) and treatment codes.
Maintains orderly storage of supplies.
Adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Education:
High School Graduate required
Experience:
2 years experience in a healthrelated position preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Individual must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate positive customer relations skills. The applicant will exhibit excellent computer skills ability to organize work knowledge of medical terminology correct grammar skills and ability to function within a team environment.
