Job Description

Role: Senior Software Engineer (JavaScript)
As aSenior Software Engineer youll help by modifying existing systems taking on ownership of current systems as well as green field projects and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Our engineers work with a variety of tools including C Java JavaScript and Ruby. Youll work on frontend systems in an effort to expand and improve our product suite.
What youll do:
- Work on tastytrades frontend trading client applications using Svelte though experience with other modern frontend JavaScript frameworks is valuable
- Contribute to the Javabased core frontend trading logic library; prior Java experience beneficial but not required
- Take ownership over several of tastytrades clientfacing applications or endtoend systems within clientfacing applications
- Transform business requirements and technical direction into productionquality code
- Collaborate with UX and Product teams to improve customer workflows and overall user experience
- Provide technical leadership for junior team members through small project team management and individualized technical mentorship
- Deliver concise constructive peer reviews covering codecraft implementation quality and business domain correctness for both junior and senior engineers
- Create proofofconcept implementations that leverage new technologies or novel architectures to establish pathways for future projects
- Scale existing technology through architecture profiling code refactoring and strategic collaboration with technical leadership and other teams
- Write comprehensive tests for your code
- Support application development with necessary infrastructure work coordinating with the infrastructure team as needed
Who you are:
- The ability to learn quickly in areas in which you dont already have deep expertise
- A mastery of modern web development (JavaScript / Typescript HTML and CSS) and the ability/willingness to deploy and manage production applications
- The ability to jump into a brandnew framework or language and quickly become productive in it
- Confident in ability to write tests and quickly deliver stable and performant software
- 5 years of professional experience working as a software engineer on a team preferably with some experience as a technical lead or mentor
- A keen eye for user experience and design

The actual salary offered will be based on the candidates level of experience and qualifications
