Job Description

THE POSITION

Washington County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fiscal Technician! This position performs advanced clericalaccounting work giving you the opportunity to utilize your extensive knowledge in the application of bookkeeping principles and practices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician you will be tasked with reviewing and processing a variety of financial documents involving communicating and meeting with providers to assess allocation requirements and providing technical assistance. You will be responsible for maintaining spreadsheets to monitor spending and for preparation of financial reports as well as compiling data to support state and federal requirements. Within this role you will utilize your problem solving skills as you work independently within a framework of prescribed accounting procedures and regulations. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing invoices
  • Monitoring fiscal and accounting operations of BHDS provider agencies
  • Reviewing and monitoring audits
  • Analyzing forms and reports for accuracy and ensuring compliance
  • Preparing the fiscal year annual income and expenditure report
  • Maintaining time studies for proper allocation of expenses
  • Maintaining records for the BHDS contract process

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
