Building Technology Integrator Business

The regional system integration business called Bosch Integrator Business offers solutions and customized services for building security energy efficiency and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Boschs role as a comprehensive supplier of energy building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent singlesource integrator of critical building systems including energy services building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting planning implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers commercial real estate buildings and federal state and local government. Climatec has operated as an independent entity maintaining its offices in Arizona California Nevada Texas New York and New Jersey. Climatec continues to represent and integrate numerous leading manufactures product lines across its wide range of services including Bosch products. Employee Relations Director

The Employee Relations Director will provide strategic leadership related to the development implementation and management of employee relations and risk management strategies and initiatives for Boschs integrator business including but not limited to Climatec and Paladin locations in North America (USA and Canada). This position will partner with senior leaders managers and employees to support a highly engaged workforce while ensuring compliance with employment/labor laws and promoting a culture of respect within the company. This position requires strong interpersonal skills a deep understanding of labor laws a mindset of compromise and balance combined with experience managing complex employee relations issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate the employee relations program and related functions for US and Canadian locations
  • Work closely with the HR Leadership team to develop implement and manage HR processes policies and systems to provide integrated insights and identify proactive strategies to build a highly engaged legally compliant and productive North American workforce
  • Provide expert advice to ensure the consistent application of Boschs Code of Conduct and compliance with all policy regulatory requirements and applicable federal state and provincial employment and human rights legislation.
  • Advise regarding HR and employmentrelated contracts and agreements including employment agreements restrictive covenants and related clauses in both vendor and customer contracts
  • Interface with Boschs corporate associate relations team related to complex employment and leaves matters including government audits prelitigation and litigation strategies and management
  • Partnership:
    • Communicates with any key stakeholder regarding employee relations concerns; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues
    • Provide expert advice on employment matters including discipline performance and attendance management to support a highly engaged and effective workforce. Act as a point of escalation on complex matters.
    • Workclosely with the HR Leadership team and HRBPs on complex and sensitive matters and broader businessrelated initiatives and projects.
    • Build and maintain key relationships with businesses and functions influencing and negotiating while being viewed as a true partner.
  • Leadership & Change:
    • Designand facilitate training programs for managers and employees on topics such as workplace diversity performance conversations conflict resolution and effective communication to foster a harmonious workplace culture.
    • Support VP of Operational Excellence and other HR team members with the development of resources guidelines processes and tools to facilitate Employee Relations ability to provideadvice at scale through consistent case management.
    • Provide a positiveand infectious transformationmindset.
    • Foster an open environment that drives a highperformance culture.
  • Compliance Documentation & Systems
    • Ensure policy updates are in place and communicate policy change to all stakeholders
    • Build internal risk mitigation capabilities (policies tracking documentation) using data and systems
    • Manage risk and improve manager and employee experience through well informed fair and transparent decisions which place employees at the centre and focus on Company Values
    • Identify and report on trends and emerging issues including root cause of employment matters.

Required Professional Competencies:

  • Significant experience in conducting and/or managing workplace investigations.
  • Solid and fluid working experience (minimally 7 years) with local labor laws FLSA and other employment compliance areas
  • Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles practices and procedures
  • Working understanding of statistical concepts and methods of data collection; Ability to compile research and analyze information; Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports
  • Excellent collaboration capabilities and ability to engage others to work towards a shared vision and common goals.
  • Experience establishing and managing relationships with executives and senior level stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills and can build relationships across hierarchies and different cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering on commitments.
  • Ability to drive change in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances to handle confidential information and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Skill and Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business or related field required; or commensurate years of experience
  • Minimum 8 years direct experience in Employee Relations and/or Employment Law demonstrated and applied knowledge of either US and Canadian employment law & regulations (both federal state & provincial including human rights accommodation and workplace standards / requirements).
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of US labor and employment law including but not limited to: NLRA FLSA Title VII ADEA ADA FMLA Sec 503/VEVRRA USERRA WARN OSHA
  • People management/leadership experience as demonstrated through work history
  • Proven experience aligning and integrating risk management with business and HR strategy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience with Federal Contractor/OFCCP requirements
  • Proven track record in leading transformation and driving change
  • SHRMSCP preferred
  • OSHA (US) and/or Worksafe (Canada) Knowledge
  • Experience representing employers in dispute resolution
  • Experience with Employee Relations in California and New York

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
