About the role
As an Area Manager you will use your commercial retail expertise to inspire and lead your team of store managers to deliver the company plan through driving high store standards to increase sales and profitability across both pharmacy and retail.
With your leadership team working across the stores in your area you will be responsible for delivering a strong trading performance underpinned by an exceptional operational platform. You will make a difference to your community through guiding and coaching your teams to deliver the very best service across both retail and pharmacy.
Reporting to the Director of Stores and working collaboratively with the regional team Support Office and your Store Leaders to turn your vision into action.
You will be required to travel across your Area to visit your stores regularly.
What youll need to have
These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.
Experience leading managers who lead large teams within a retail environment
A full UK driving licence.
It would be great if you also have
These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential so we would welcome applications from candidates that dont match these additional criteria.
An understanding of leading teams in community pharmacy
Experience leading teams across a multisite environment

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic leader to join our Central Regional team as Area manager for East Manchester. Comprising 19 stores 16 with a Pharmacy and 3 without this is an exciting Area with huge opportunity to grow the Retail business in some very desirable Cheshire locations and also a loyal customer base in some of the Greater Manchester Stores.
The Area is also definitely on the radar following the success of the Hyde Test & Learn initiative last year so lots of opportunities to share learns to support our Pharmacy growth model.
Geographically East Manchester is a compact Area with all stores within a 40 minute radius of each other so plenty of opportunity to be really visible with to drive the retail and pharmacy agendas. The Area Manager will also work as part of a very effective Manchester conurbation to share ideas support resourcing and promote talent and succession within the geography.
