Job Summary

Diagnose and provide nonsurgical treatment for a wide range of diseases and injuries of internal organ systems. Provide care mainly for adults and adolescents primarily in an outpatient setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze records reports test results or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient. (10%)
  • Treat internal disorders such as hypertension heart disease diabetes or problems of the lung brain kidney or gastrointestinal tract. (10%)
  • Prescribe or administer medication therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness disease or injury. (10%)
  • Manage and treat common health problems such as infections influenza or pneumonia as well as serious chronic and complex illnesses in adolescents adults and the elderly. (10%)
  • Provide and manage longterm comprehensive medical care including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases for adult patients in an office or hospital. (10%)
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. (10%)
  • Advise patients and community members concerning diet activity hygiene and disease prevention. (10%)
  • Make diagnoses when different illnesses occur together or in situations where the diagnosis may be obscure. (10%)
  • Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. (10%)
  • Collect medical history monitor patients conditions and progress provide consulting services to other providers as needed and advise other providers of patients risk status. (10%)


Education:

  • Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited medical school Required

    $206300.00 $245700.00 / yr (Pay range listed is for 1.0 fulltime equivalent (FTE). See Work Type for actual FTE)
