We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Architect to lead the design and implementation of our enterprise systems and technology solutions . Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a teambased work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and fosters a culture of belonging. Promotes and supports company policies procedures mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans programs and initiatives; consulting with business partners managers coworkers or other key stakeholders; soliciting evaluating and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and costeffectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
About Team
The platforms you build will be used for creating OMNI pricing platform for Walmart across both eCommerce ; store channel ; across multiple countries with each of them being a multibillion dollar business for Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that span across multiple countries and a large number of users and data. This team enables our stores and eCommerce operations across the world. The platforms that we build are used in most of the markets where Walmart has its presence (US Canada Mexico Chile Central America). The pricing platform in Walmart focuses on setting EDLP for stores ; least price for the eCommerce channel among all the competitors.
What Youll Do:
Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda set your priorities and deliver awesome products
Work closely with Distinguished Architects and crossfunctional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality Cost and Delivery) within the established architectural guidelines
Participate in hiring and building teams enabling them to be highperforming agile teams
You will work with engineering teams to create highlevel and lowlevel designs and drive design
You will come up with quality best practices and other Nonfunctional standards and guide the teams to execute them along with helping them with overall technical and design aspects
You will help implement cuttingedge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data and Interact with Walmart cross crossfunctional engineering teams as cloud platform analytics etc. across geographies to leverage technical expertise and contribute to the engineering community.
What Youll Bring:
B. Tech. / B. E. / M. Tech. / M. S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
15 years of experience in the design and development of highly scalable distributed applications and platforms particularly for multitenant SaaS products.
Programming language Java Kotlin Scala
Experience building a Code Deploy Run pipeline using DevOps best practices by leveraging the best available CI/CD tools.
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures algorithms and design patterns.
Own Tech Debt/Tech Modernization Ability to balance the longterm big picture and shortterm implications of design decisions.
Having proficiency in Java/J2EE Microservices and Cloud Native Architecture.
Handson experience in Microservices and RESTful web services development in Java SpringBoot Spring Kafka or equivalent framework).
Good knowledge of messaging systems: Kafka / RabbitMQ.
Indepth knowledge of Cloud Native Architecture Microservice Architecture and related stacks (Service Registry ELK / Splunk service registry VMs etc. ) and container technologies (Docker Kubernetes etc. )
Knowledge of at least one of Azure/Google Cloud Platforms.
Selfstarter with the ability to multitask across several priority areas in the face of fuzzy situations.
Demonstrated endtoend ownership for the development and design of at least one cloudbased project.
Strong handson development skills to prototype technical solutions.
Strong desire to drive change and ability to adapt to change quickly.
Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation facilitation and consensusbuilding skills; ability to influence and persuade without direct control.
Focus on reusability frameworks patterns and configuration tools for faster development.
