POSITION SCOPE
The Level 1/Level 2/Level 3 Engineering Technician position requires the preparation and updating of detailed schematics/drawings for new and existing heavy equipment used for the mining and aggregate industry. The position also requires data collection and a Hands on Approach to hydraulic and electrical systems. The Engineering Technician must be willing to work as part of a team and provide support to other members of the engineering department as needed. Some travel may be required. The Engineering Technician will report to the Engineering Department Team Lead.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Provide support on design work
Produce schematic drawings assigned by the department Team Lead
Update bill of materials for shop production as needed
Support the preparation of material lists for the Purchasing Department
Provide support in machine setup and automation preparation as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Design preferred
Strong engineering and mechanical aptitude
Experience with Auto Cad and/or SolidWorks
Experience with SolidWorks Electrical a plus
Basic skills in word processor and spreadsheet programs
PHSYICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard handle and feel; stoop kneel crouch twist crawl reach and stretch
The employee is occasionally required to move around the office
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
