Job Summary:
Altus Group is currently seeking a candidate in the position of Analyst to join our National Investment team part of the Appraisals division working out of Toronto ON. The Analyst will work within a dynamic team gaining a wide array of experience related to commercial real estate valuation. They will be responsible for conducting research preparing Argus/Excel analyses and cash flow projections and assisting with appraisal reports.In this exciting opportunity you will join a team that is focused primarily on appraising institutionalgrade assets in markets across the country. Working as part of a national team you will be trained to work seamlessly with staff in other offices using technology while also being part of the local office.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn and work with the team to support institutional clients acquisitions asset management and lending needs for their commercial real estate portfolios.
Developing cash flow projections to be used in the appraisal process using industry
standard software Argus Enterprise.
Preparing accurate analysis or portions of appraisal reports using the latest market information obtained from various internal/external partners. Extensive senior co worker collaboration is anticipated.
Conducting research and collecting data from both internal database and third party sources with respect to market rental rates comparable building transactions and general market knowledge.
Ensuring data collected as part of ongoing assignments is entered accurately into the company database in a timely fashion.
Continuously upgrading the level of knowledge regarding market and industry trends
Accurately completing time sheets daily ensuring nonbillable time and recoverable expenses are clearly outlined.
Become a Candidate with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Maintain Candidate status by completing requirements outline by the AIC e.g. completing minimum of one (1) of the required courses towards designation per year
As a Candidate in partnership with the Consultant Sr. Consultant Associate Director Director or Sr. Director perform building inspections in the local area
Key Qualifications:
Recent graduate with either a university or college degree preferably in Commerce Real Estate Economics or Finance or related experience in commercial appraisal/real estate valuation
Excellent communication skills written verbal and oral presentation
Valid drivers license
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word Outlook Excel (vlookup if statements
pivot tables etc.)
Basic skills in creating financial models (i.e. Excel Argus etc.)
Excellent research quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to work in a team and independently
Selfmotivated with a high degree of integrity honesty and ethics
Availability to work flexible hours and travel locally for building inspections
Candidate for the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) designation is considered an asset
Prior real estate experience would be considered an asset.
