Brentford FC Community Sports Trust

With our community work spanning more than three decades Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate motivate and inspire people from all backgrounds.

The Trust now operates across two new state of the art sites. We are a key partner at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub which opened its doors to the public in 2021 whilst also enjoying a purposebuilt office space at our Community Stadium Hub adjacent to the Brentford FC Stadium.

Staff will be required to undertake regular safeguarding training to enable and reinforce a proactive approach to safeguarding. This role requires the post holder to apply all relevant policies and uphold the clubs commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people to ensure a safe environment for all. This includes the timely reporting of any safeguarding concern to the safeguarding team.

General Trust Accountabilities

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant policies including health and safety and safeguarding policies
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulatory ethical and social requirements
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust and its personnel
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times

Main Purpose of Job

The successful candidate will be part of the Trusts Marketing and Communications department working closely with the Head of Marketing and Partnerships the Communications Manager and the Content Creator and will have a vital role in setting the brand identity for Brentford FC CST as we launch a new threeyear strategy.

The role will suit someone with the skill set in creating imagery for print digital and social media working within Brentford FC and the Trusts brand guidelines to support existing campaigns and on new exciting programmes. The candidate will have technical knowledge on Adobe Creative Cloud particularly Photoshop Illustrator and In Design.

Responsibilities

Graphic Designing:

    • To produce editorial and community programme assets for both online and offline materials
    • To design campaign assets across a broad range of channel applications keeping true to the brand and the campaign and promotions concepts including online banners leaflets screen adverts animated GIFs and HTML5 assets
    • To assist in the production of graphics for the Trusts online channels. This will include creating bespoke assets from scratch to demonstrate the goals and values of Brentford FC and amending imagery where appropriate to engage with Trusts participants
    • To develop design solutions for noncampaign collateral including: social media graphics website images programme pages video animations stationary signage & venue branding event displays newsletters

    Campaign Development:

    Be part of various Trusts campaigns planning and development stages to ensure design and brand involvement maximises campaigns targets and fundraising goals

    Brand Consistency and Development: To ensure all executions are consistent & conform to Brentford FC and Trusts brand guidelines and assist in developing and maintaining the Trusts brand identity across all design materials

    Departmental Interaction: Ownership as the point of contact between departments and the Marketing and Communications team to understand their needs and provide design solutions that meet their objectives

    Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously utilising the Monday CRM software ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines

    Events support: Preparedness for working in Trusts events and fundraising initiatives which may include weekends

    Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on all design outputs to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications

      • Marketing and Communications Department
      • Liaise with all Trusts departments when required

      Key External Relationships

      • Trusts design and print vendors/partners
      • External partners funders and sponsors

      Essential Criteria

      • Educated to at least ALevel or equivalent with a minimum of a grade B at English language GCSE or equivalent with a relevant subject to Graphic Design and/or Media Production
      • Qualifications in Graphic Design or Adobe Suite (Illustrator InDesign or Photoshop)
      • Excellence in Adobe Suite (Illustrator InDesign or Photoshop)
      • The ability to work as part of a large and small team but also alone on projects when needed
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Competent in IT with knowledge in Word Excel and Outlook as a minimum
      • Full knowledge and use of a wide range of social media and how graphics can be used to engage and grow an audience
      • Understanding of themes and the news agenda in sport particularly football and sports for development

      Desirable:

      • Qualifications: Degree in a relevant subject to Graphic Design and/or Media Production
      • Motion Graphics: Proficiency in creating motion graphics and animations using software like After Effects.
      • UX/UI Design: Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles to create engaging and userfriendly digital assets.
      • Photography and Videography: Skills in capturing and editing photos and videos to enhance visual content.
      • Typography: Strong understanding of typography principles to create visually appealing and readable text layouts.
