Overview
The Radiologist MD DNB DMRD Consultant at Apollo Hospital plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients through advanced imaging techniques. This position is not only crucial for ensuring accurate diagnosis but also significantly impacts patient outcomes and the overall effectiveness of the healthcare services provided at the hospital. The Radiologist will work closely with other healthcare professionals including physicians and surgeons to develop comprehensive treatment plans based on imaging results. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret various imaging studies including Xrays CT scans MRIs and ultrasounds.
- Communicate findings clearly to referring physicians and provide consultations as needed.
- Develop and maintain protocols and standards for diagnostic imaging.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior radiologists and radiologic technologists.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in radiology and implement relevant techniques.
- Participate in professional development and continuous education activities.
- Contribute to research initiatives and clinical trials as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Engage in quality assurance activities to enhance imaging services.
- Provide direct care to patients and address their concerns regarding imaging studies.
- Attend and present at departmental meetings contributing to strategic discussions.
- Collaborate with IT staff to optimize radiological systems and software.
- Participate in hospital committees as required to promote radiology services.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or DNB in Radiology.
- Specialization in Diagnostic Radiology (DMRD).
- Valid medical license to practice in the respective jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 35 years of experience in a clinical radiology setting.
- Advanced knowledge of imaging modalities and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Capability to handle highpressure situations and make quick decisions.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in radiology.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Ability to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring radiology trainees is preferred.
