JOB SUMMARY:
The Livestock Administrator will play a pivotal role in coordinating administrative tasks related to cattle procurement processing and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment contributing to the success of livestock management operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational
Coordinate administrative tasks related to cattle procurement processing and compliance.
Accurately maintain cattle booking records and livestock on hand numbers.
Check national vendor declarations are completed and that cattle are eligible for slaughter.
Ensure appropriate documentation is held for cattle programs (eg. grass fed).
Analyse kill and ensure correct weights are records against each carcass and cattle are allocated to correct lots.
Maintain and updated NLIS database records.
Financial
Maintain livestock procurement records and ensure appropriate costs are assigned to procurement.
Prepare buying advice results to cattle buyers and management.
Process/create invoices in system for cattle payments and associated costs.
Send recipient created tax invoice and weight sheets to farmer/agent for consignment cattle.
Calculate and process buyer commissions payments at end of month.
Calculate and lodge returns for statutory levies at end of month.
WHS
Adhere to WHS policies and procedures.
Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
People
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Provide administrative support to the Livestock Manager and production teams.
This position description describes in general terms the normal duties which the position is expected to undertake.
However the duties described may vary or be amended from time to time without changing the level of responsibility.
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role preferably within livestock agriculture or supply chain sectors.
Strong understanding of cattle procurement processes vendor declarations and livestock documentation (e.g. NLIS NVDs grassfed programs).
Proven ability to manage data accurately including livestock records weights lots and procurement costs.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience using livestock management systems or databases.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail especially when handling records and compliancerelated tasks.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote fastpaced environment.
Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with confidence in liaising with farmers agents and internal teams.
Desirable:
Previous experience in meat processing livestock supply chain or agriculturebased procurement.
Familiarity with statutory levy processing and invoice reconciliation.
Knowledge of Australian livestock industry standards and compliance requirements.
