Job Description

SUMMARY: Join an innovative team of educators supporting students with special needs in a unique and specialized setting attached to a community school. To meet the needs of students with complex learning and developmental needs Lewiston Schools has established a multidisciplinary intensive education program designed to support students with individualized programming while encouraging them to benefit from their peers and offer access to naturalistic teaching role is part of a highly supported team building on a strong programmatic structure for all classrooms with opportunities to individualize and innovate. The special educators will help to create a flexible class environment favorable to learning and personal independence; to establish meaningful social interaction with peers; to motivate students to strengthen social executive functioning and foundational learning skills needed for success in their elementary grade education. This role offers many opportunities for team collaboration and family outreach in order to best help students generalize their learning across Range: Starting at $56000.00ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be and evaluates the accomplishments of students academic and social growth using standardized and curriculumbased measures paired with ongoing data collection and lesson plans and instructional material providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each regularly with parents in monthly student meetings as well as newsletters notes phone calls a learning environment that encourages student independence using evidenced based practice and databased decision a team of Ed. Techs/BHPs:Providing coaching and modeling around classroom and individualized schedules within and across with a multidisciplinary team to collaboratively design individualized compliance with all assessment progress monitoring and IEP reporting OF YEAR & SCHEDULE:This is a full time role working a programspecific calendar aligned to Lewiston Public Schools academic year with 6 weeks of full time summer services as well as additional summer professional learning RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises classroom and students and volunteers with assistance advice and support from REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
