Job Description
Plan design install and configure Oracle PostgreSQL and cloudbased databases (GCP AWS) across production and lower environments ensuring seamless integration with network systems; Implement and maintain robust database architectures to support businesscritical applications ensuring high availability scalability and security; Perform database upgrades and migrations ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and seamless transition to newer versions or different platforms; Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements translating them into scalable and efficient technical architectures; Communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions; Monitor process lag analyze statistics and identify network and disk bottlenecks implement tuning measures to optimize replication performance; Analyze and optimize SQL queries utilizing tools such as EXPLAIN PLAN to identify and address performance bottlenecks including fulltable scans and highcost operations; Apply SQL hints and other optimization techniques to improve query performance ensuring efficient use of resources and faster query execution times; Design and manage ETL processes using Apache Airflow Python and other relevant tools to ensure accurate and timely data extraction transformation and loading into target systems; Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Jenkins Ansible and Terraform to streamline database management deployment and configuration processes; Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure repeatable and consistent infrastructure provisioning and management; Utilize BigQuery for data storage and analytics designing and optimizing queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing; Implement monitoring solutions to continuously track database performance resource utilization and availability proactively addressing potential issues before they impact operations; and Perform regular maintenance tasks including patching backups and security updates to ensure database systems are uptodate and secure. Position will be headquartered in Charlotte NC and allows for telecommuting from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.
Qualifications :
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Applied Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of postbaccalaureate experience as a Database Administrator or a related position. Experience must include: Oracle Database PostgreSQL Database AWS and CI/CD Pipeline. Position will be headquartered in Charlotte NC and allows for telecommuting from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.
