Open Door is seeking a parttimeHousekeeper in Ossining NY. The Housekeeper will report to the HousekeepingManager.
Responsibilities
- Cleanand sanitizepatient exam rooms hallways waiting areas bathrooms and other areas.
- MaintainCenter by cleaning dusting mopping vacuuming and polishing.
- Keepsupplies ready by restocking housekeeping supplies; notifies supervisor if new supplies are needed.
- Emptywastebaskets and transports other trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishsupplies such as bathroom items.
- Labeland removeinfectious waste bags and containers.
- Maintainfurnishings by dusting and polishing furniture cleaning and polishing glass surfaces.
- Cleanstairways and elevators on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Followcleaning procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Procedures Manual.
- Workcooperatively with the maintenance and housekeeping staff.
- Appropriately discardhazardous waste from the exam rooms and replenishes sharp containers as needed.
- If Designated as responsible for Bio Hazardous Waste removal complete online training and receive certificate prior to completing this task.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Able to read write and speak English
- 2 Years of housekeeping experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiar with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques.
- Knowledge of Infection Control techniques.
- Patient and polite and able to interact effectively with other personnel.
- Capable of understanding and working within departmental operations.
- Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Prolonged standing walking reaching stooping bending kneeling climbing stretching and possess finger/hand dexterity.
- Frequent lifting pushing of supplies and equipment.
- Must be flexible with schedule and able to work additional hours if needed
- Perfect attendance and punctuality
