The primary mission of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Oregon is to help students achieve their educational goals by reducing financial barriers to attend the University of Oregon. This mission is carried out in an environment that places a high priority on studentcentered service as well as meeting University enrollment goals. We provide information about financial assistance and scholarships to a diverse group of students and families determine financial aid eligibility and award program funds to applicants in accordance with all applicable policies and rules while advocating for students regarding financial aid issues at the institutional State and Federal levels.
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director of Operations in the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Information Technology Consultant 2 is responsible for the administration and coordination of the reporting data security and technical processing to ensure that the office can deliver financial aid to eligible students and their families in the most consistent equitable and efficient manner possible. This position will consult with users provide database support and maintenance and create reports of financial aid data in Slate Cognos and/or SQLPlus. In doing so the incumbent exercises independent judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the universitys mission and policy to recruit and retain students at this university. This position may direct the work of classified employees and possibly student workers and temporary employees as assigned to process financial aid database records. This position is part of a management team that designs and implements unit policy regarding program administration and policies and procedures regarding the application for and the receipt of financial aid.
This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science information systems educational technology communications or related fields or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study and at least two years of related work experience.
Ability to work quickly and accurately under restrictive deadlines and high volumes of work with little to no direct supervision.
Ability to remain organized solve problems manage projects and prioritize time effectively.

Demonstrated skills in querying a relational database.
Ability to learn new processes retain what is learned and apply it to similar situations.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients coworkers subordinates superiors representatives of other organizations and the general public.
Demonstrated overall commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity including the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent amount of training and experience.
Basic skills in systems analysis and relational database concepts standards and accepted practices.
Experience presenting data in multiple formats including charts and dashboards.
Experience utilizing Banner or other Student Information System (SIS) Slate or other CRM and Hyland OnBase (DuckDocs) or other ECMS.
Two years of professional experience querying relational databases utilizing Oracle SQL.
