Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintaining golf course and irrigation equipment. A minimum of one (1) year golf course maintenance experience. Satisfaction of program and/or licensure requirements and three (3) months of service in the Skilled Trades VI classification. Working knowledge of fluid hydraulics automotive electronics gas and arc welding fabrication of specialty tools gas and diesel engines and golf course irrigation systems. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems. Knowledge of reel/bedknife grinding and maintenance. Ability to communicate and work well with others. Frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Intermittent standing walking sitting and driving. Use of hands and feet for repetitive grasping fine manipulation pushing pulling and operating controls. Bending twisting squatting climbing reaching and gripping. Must possess a valid drivers license and driving record acceptable to the University by the Universitys insurance carrier.
