Work Model: OnSite
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Weekdays Monday Friday
Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program provides worldclass cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases. 

Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians surgeons nurses pharmacists dieticians and other allied health professionals with special training in cardiac and vascular conditions and its treatment. Each year our innovative surgery techniques and outstanding cardiology interventions attract hundreds of visiting professors and trainees from around the globe.

Duties

  • Exercise judgment and decisionmaking in the provision of complex clerical services including: completing a series of scheduling tests and procedures to work up the referred patient in preparation for their review by the Heart Team
  • Use Epic and imaging scheduling system(s) for Joint Department of Medical Imaging Cath Lab and OR
  • Provide clerical scheduling and reception support for the TAVI and Structural Heart disease program
  • Provide processing documenting and maintenance of scheduled imaging studies and /or tests electronically/manually
  • Complete data entry responsibilities for CorHealth monthly reports
  • Provide preparation information and imaging appointment information to the client

Qualifications :

  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Diploma in medical office administration or equivalent an asset 
  • Five (5) years related office/clinical administration support experience
  • Two years related experience in a customer service environment
  • One year experience in a health care environment in an administrative capacity
  • Cardiology background an asset
  • Previous onthejob computer/wordprocessing database software experience
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office software environment
  • Knowledge of Epic and Syngo an asset.
  • Excellent ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent telephone interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital and program standards
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to effectively handle confidential matters and materials
  • Ability to perform routine work independently
  • Knowledge of general office practices procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
