The Finance and Finance Technology teams build and operate Remitlys global financial systems moving money managing treasury operations reconciling transactions maintaining the ledger and supporting financial compliance. We are now redesigning the Finance Platform from the ground up to scale with our growth.
As a Principal Software Engineer for the Finance Platform you will be a critical member of the team driving the design architecture and delivery of the nextgeneration platform that underpins all of Remitlys financial operations.
You will report to the Director of Engineering for Finance Technology and will be part of the broader Engineering Leadership will provide deep technical expertise help define longterm technical strategy mentor engineers and influence decisionmaking across teams.

You Will:
- Provide Technical Leadership on complex highimpact crossteam engineering initiatives.
- Set the technical vision for the Finance Platform in partnership with product compliance treasury accounting and engineering teams.
- Architect scalable reliable and auditable systems to track move and reconcile money around the world.
- Influence and drive multiyear technical roadmaps balancing nearterm deliverables with longterm scalability and operational excellence.
- Model Remitlys cultural values and foster an environment of inclusion innovation and excellence.
You Have:
- A degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in one or more general purpose programming languages such as Java Go Python.
- 10 years of overall software development experience including leading development of reliable available and scalable distributed systems (preferably using a Microservices architecture).
- Experience as a technical leader on complex engineering projects with several engineers and working in partnership with multiple partners such as Product Managers Designers or Data Scientists.
- Experience driving and building long term technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers up to Senior levels.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $208000$260000. In the U.S. Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
