The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the nations largest forhire transportation agency licensing and regulating the Citys yellow and green taxicabs forhire vehicles commuter vans and luxury limousines. TLC develops and enforces rules to promote safety transparency as well as consumer and driver protection for a vital mode of transport in New York City. The vehicles businesses and drivers licensed and regulated by the agency move over one million people a day. The TLC is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as the Litigation Counsel for Legal Affairs. The Legal Affairs Manager will coordinate all TLCrelated litigation: assign cases to attorneys liaise with the Law Department be aware of the arguments made in one case and how it would apply or affect another case or current or proposed Agency programs suggest changes in our rules based upon litigation results ensure Agency staff is aware of litigation and litigation holds. Additional responsibilities as a member of the Office of Legal Affairs: rulemaking contracts MOUs and special projects.

Qualifications :
Admission to the New York State Bar; and four years of recent fulltime responsible relevant satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys in an administrative managerial or executive capacity or performing highly complex and significant legal work.
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.
