The Delilah Food Runner serves guests and assists the Food Server Bus Person Bar and Kitchen teams while providing prompt tableside service and genuine hospitality to everyone. The Food Runner is serves as a liaison to the kitchen team and must relay timely information from the dining room. Food Runner understands the cycle of service has complete knowledge of food delivery etiquette sections table numbers position numbers and a comprehensive understanding of all food menu items. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies practices procedures techniques as outlined in the service manual.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations
- Greet guests in a positive friendly manner with eye contact and intention
- Communicates the needs of guests to coworkers kitchen and management
- Actively participate and contribute to preshift meetings
- Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the room management
- Full knowledge and understanding of all food menu items specifications and allergens
- Expedite food from the kitchen to the tables as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef expeditor or management
- Is aware of all upcoming orders status of tables expecting food and relays this information to the Chefs and Management
- Always verbally communicates and calls back with the expeditor to ensure that food goes to the correct table and position
- Runs delivers and spiels food in the manner described in the service manual
- Checks that each table is set with proper silverware before delivering food
- Describe food upon placement on the table and answering any questions pertaining to the dishes (including changes or additions)
- Cleanliness and organization of liquor and beer storage areas
- Ensures proper set up labeling stocking and delivery of alcohol nonalcoholic beverages supplies glasses paper products garnishes and ice
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items liquor brands beers and nonalcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet
- Assists with moving chairs and tables as needed based on the floor plan
- Responsible for performing table maintenance by checking on the guest throughout service
- Completing opening and closing side work
- Maintaining health code standards
- Maintain table cleanliness utilizing a silent service approach
- Bid farewell to guests using guests name when known and encourage them to return
- Maintain a level of professionalism
- Anticipate the guests needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency
- Work as a team assisting all guests and employees needs and inquiries
- Perform all other jobrelated duties as requested
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/ features and local attractions/ activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Full knowledge of designated china and garnishes for all food menu items
- Complete opening closing and ongoing side duties not limited to fold/stack napkins polish glassware polish silverware stock glassware restock china restock supply cabinets and service stations inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies
Guest Services
- Ensure guest has same elevated experience in lounge as in dining room
- Adapt to different guests as lounge will be for guests dining as well as those coming to enjoy the atmosphere for cocktails
Qualifications :

- Consistently maintain a wellgroomed appearance posture and hygiene deemed by management
- Makeup technique and style should stay current and in line with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management
- Maintain dialogue with all guest while upholding a warm positive and friendly persona at all times
Competencies and Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 2 years previous work experience as a Food Runner in a lounge/ finedining restaurant
- Candidates must exhibit basic food and advanced table service knowledge
- Education: High School school diploma or above
- Language Abilities: Fluent spoken and written English
