The Opportunity

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor. Location: Springhill Nova Scotia

Hours: Parttime 18.125 hours/week; Fulltime 36.25 hours/week

Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour based on experience and level of postsecondary education.

What youll do

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Professional and Parttime Learning collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Manager you are responsible for:

  • Planning and preparing instructional materials and resources;
  • Establishing and managing a positive learning environment;
  • Instructing and evaluating students;
  • Building and sustaining professional relationships with students colleagues community partners and stakeholders as well as other related duties.

What youll need

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree with related work experience (OR) Bachelors degree AND Certificate in Adult Education (OR) Certificate in Andragogy (OR) and a Masters in Education from a recognized postsecondary institution.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with at least three years of recent and related work experience.

  • A Nova Scotia teachers license.
  • WHIMIS and Basic First Aid.

Assets:

  • Bilingual (English/French) skills would be considered an asset.
  • Experience teaching adult learners and working in a correctional facility would be considered assets.


Professional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problemsolving skills analytical ability and innovative thinking.
  • Selfmotivated service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check and be asked to show proof of vaccination before an offer of employment is made.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in a postsecondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response the minimum qualifications may be raised.
