Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a Commercial Foods TeacheratVegreville Composite High. This position consists of teaching Commercial Foods which includes running our cafeteria and Personal Foods possibly at either the Jr. High or Sr. High level. Other option classes may be part of the assignment based on need and the expertise of the successful candidate. Having a journeyperson accreditation would be an asset.
Vegreville Composite High serves approximately 370 students in grades 7 to 12 with 20 teaching staff and eight support staff. The school is located in Vegreville AB approximately 90 kilometres east of Sherwood Park AB.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
