As a Software Development Engineer on our Last Mile Technology team youll be at the forefront of solving these intricate puzzles. Youll work on systems that make intelligent decisions in realtime optimize complex logistics networks and coordinate thousands of delivery events across diverse geographical areas. Our systems must excel in environments ranging from dense urban centers to suburban neighborhoods each presenting unique challenges that require innovative solutions.

Required Skills:
Strong software engineering fundamentals
Experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture
Expertise in machine learning and optimization algorithms
Background in edge computing and realtime data processing
Passion for solving complex logistical challenges

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Knowledge of computer vision sensor fusion and perception systems including work with sensors (cameras LIDAR radar)
Experience with behavior planning or decisionmaking systems for AI agents such as motion planning path finding algorithms or navigation systems
Background in realtime systems and embedded software development
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch TensorFlow)
Experience with frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
Experience with simulation environments (Gazebo IsaacSIM)
Understanding of localization and mapping (SLAM) techniques
Experience with safetycritical software development practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
