Job Description
The Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration and Facilities Technician works closely with all plant personnel to support improved utility system and equipment reliability as well as efficient and costeffective use of plant resources. This position is a key member of a cross functional team that supports the improvement of asset reliability. The duties of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration and Facilities Technician is to ensure operational efficiency of plant and building equipment by routine preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed. This is accomplished by utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise in the operation and precise installation maintenance and repair of plant utility systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations. An alternative schedule is utilized to obtain 24/7 coverage of all plant utilities. This includes weekends and holidays. Shifts could be eight or twelve hours depending on the schedule.

Job Duties:
- Apply industrial maintenance skills and knowledge to install operate maintain and repair plant utility systems and equipment. Including internal and external repairs to buildings grounds and welfare areas.
- Maintain all building and support equipment including but not limited to ammonia system boilers and steam system air compressors building plumbing building electrical wastewater pretreatment facility and HPHW system.
- Monitor and record system performance daily and make adjustments to assure the safe and efficient operation of plant utility systems and equipment.
- Initiate and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and participate with operations plant engineering suppliers and other associates to improve equipment reliability.
- Ensure all PSM procedures are followed and documented.
- Recommend develop and implement system modifications to improve equipment operations and provide for attainment of plant and department goals.
- Provide direction and training for less skilled maintenance personnel and machine operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned and general maintenance work as needed with production equipment.
Requirements:
- Certified or ability to obtain certification for use of SelfContained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment.
- Qualified candidates cannot have an open written warnings written notices and any other write ups.
- Cannot have more than 8 attendance points.
- Must have at least 6 months of employment.
