Position Purpose and Summary
The Maintenance Technician under limited supervision will maintain a clean working environment for all National Headquarters staff and visitors. The Technician will perform routine and corrective maintenance on fixtures and equipment as directed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine and corrective maintenance on building interior and exterior property.
Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside of the scope of routine maintenance.
Repairs minor carpentry and plumbing problems such as unclogging drains fixing leaky faucets and hanging wall decorations.
Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due.
Responds to requests for cleaning spills or removing recycling materials and trash.
Moves boxes cabinets and equipment as needed to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of three (3) years of uninterrupted experience in facilities maintenance and/or a skilled trade.
Training or experience in basic handyman skills.
Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
Excellent time management skills.
A proven track record of exceptional customer service with a strong focus on client satisfaction and relationship building.
Must provide references to support prior experience in customerfacing roles.
Must reside within a 50mile radius of National Headquarters.
Proof of comprehensive COVID19 vaccination is required.
Work Environment
This position is in a professional office environment and requires physical activity such as standing walking bending kneeling and climbing. The incumbent must be flexible and responsive to the departments changing demands especially during national convention and regional conference planning. Adaptability is essential for success in this role.
