Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor and Masters degree in Education with experience as Campus Principal
  • Valid Texas Teachers Certificate
  • Valid Principal Certificate
  • 5 Years of teaching experience
  • Knowledge of effective research: change process systems thinking organizational culture and adult learners
  • Ability to plan implement deliver and sustain professional development for teachers and instructional leaders
  • Advanced knowledge of curriculum practices instruction assessment school improvement and organizational cultureKnowledge of federal and state accountability programs
  • Knowledge of performancebased monitoring requirements
  • Recommended by the ESC Executive Director

CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes all personal timekeeping travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintains professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position
  • Demonstrates punctual and regular attendance on the job
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  • Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
  • Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
  • Exhibits professionalism in all situations at the ESC
  • Develops collaborative and positive relationships with schools and coworkers
  • Exhibits planning and leadership on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit innovative thinking
  • Keeps supervisor advised of all pertinent financial and operations business

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to handle and see to completion multiple projects simultaneously and on deadline
  • Demonstrates positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Upholds confidentiality of the information processed in all work if required
  • Attends all called meetings including departmental staff meetings work team meetings and general staff meetings

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide training on effective teaching practices and assistance in the selection and use of instructional resources.
  • Provide workshops in generating new or adapting grades 612 Reading Language Arts strategies or existing curriculum documents.
  • Provide appropriate training on the Texas Essential of Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Grades 612 RLA and any corresponding technology application TEKS in preparation for the state mandated assessments.
  • Provide technical assistance to districts.
  • Analyze data and provide appropriate interventions strategies and enrichment as determined from STAAR/EOC SAT ACT TSIA 2 and local assessment data for grades 612 RLA.
  • Provide professional development for the integration of technology into the curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other relevant professional organizations.
  • Travel (meaning to drive ones own vehicle) to and from LEAs to fulfill program and project specific objectives is required. Out of region travel may also be required.
  • Coordinate and deliver effective training staff development and technical assistance in areas pertinent to the program or project
  • Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Up to 226 working days
This is an atwill employment position.
In the event of an economic slump a reductioninforce may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing.
