Your Experience

As a Director of Software at Packsize you will collaborate with crossfunctional groups to ensure the team has what it needs to deliver worldclass experiences and value for its customers. You will have a pivotal role in shaping our product direction. Your expertise will be crucial in continuously evaluating our existing systems in direct partnership with the Product development team to ensure we are on the right track.

Cocreating with software product hardware Information Technology and support leaders you will continuously build and prioritize a roadmap. As a key collaborator with leadership you will ensure that departmental initiatives align and integrate with the broader organizational strategy. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders including customers partners and vendors will be vital to your success. You also own the strategic vision for R&D Software.

Youll mentor coach and develop Technical Development Managers Architects and other individual contributors fostering a culture of growth and excellence. Your efforts will directly affect an individuals growth and help align with opportunities at Packsize. These efforts are crucial to delivering on strategic objectives that drive our success.

Your commitment to delivering the highest quality solutions on time and within budget will be essential. You will ensure that our software solutions are delivered with visibility traceability and predictability making them easily understandable for our internal customers and transferable to our external customers.

You will ensure continual evaluation of and adherence to software development standards and practices by all teams. You will foster an environment for innovation and experimentation proactively sharing insights knowledge enterprise strategies and industry themes with everyone. Your handson approach will see you jumping in with the team to provide horsepower and mentorship to achieve department and company goals.

Finally your understanding and guidance regarding the overall architecture and governance of Packsize systems will ensure sustainable scalable and resilient outcomes for our customers and team members. Your role is instrumental in driving Packsize forward.

We use C# RabbitMQ MongoDB React and Azure technologies. We are empowered to learn about our customers problems and determine the best technical solutions for our platform. We are not concerned if you havent worked with our tech stack as we have a greater preference for these attributes:

What Youll Do

• Mentor coach and develop Technical Development Managers and individual contributors.
• Working collaboratively with other organizations within Packsize to understand challenges characterize issues and solve problems.
• Communicating changes incidents and statuses to senior leadership to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Help drive product direction by continuously evaluating existing systems in direct partnership with the Product development team.
• Cocreate with software product hardware and support leaders to build a roadmap and prioritization on an ongoing basis.
• Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in the entire product.

• Deliver software solutions with visibility traceability and predictability.
• Provide insights highlighting our progress towards organizational and product objectives
• Engaging in datadriven systems and validating assumptions to make informed decisions that benefit our customers and work for the business.
• Forecast and report on financial and personnel budgets.
• Leverage the insights and knowledge of our talented team members to improve our product capabilities and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment and integration of departmental initiatives with the broader organizational strategy.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including customers partners and vendors.
• Represent the department in meetings and presentations.
• Ensure teams and development activities are aligned with the company roadmap and vision.
• Proactively share insight knowledge enterprise strategies and industry themes with everyone.
• Discuss technical concerns and jump in with teams to help solve their challenges.

What Youll Bring

• Previous knowledge and experience building worldclass organizations that are well suited to solve complex problems at scale
• 10 years of demonstrable experience in Information Technology functions
• 5 years of experience in cloud technology architecture and design
• 10 years of experience leading teams of managers engineers developers and analysts
• Passion for engineering excellence empowering others continuous improvement via collaboration and a willingness to learn
• A proven track record of hiring and building highly effective product engineering teams
• Experience leading coaching mentoring and developing people and teams
• Strong analytical technical and problemsolving skills to understand complex customer needs
• Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence the desired outcome for all
• Ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and patterns
• Ability to understand and promote the value of scalable architecture and sound design principles
• Advanced skills in building monitoring and maintaining scalable applications running in the Azure cloud
• Expertise in converting technology goals into achievable initiatives
• A proven track record in planning managing and supporting multiple teams that deliver to timelines commitments and budgets
