We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support documentation needs for a government and public sector project. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and communication skills the ability to work with subject matter experts and a background in IT documentation.
Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Baltimore Maryland (Onsite local candidates preferred)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write edit and organize technical documents including specifications and procedure manuals
- Collaborate with multiple departments to gather and clarify project requirements
- Translate technical concepts into clear concise documentation for various audiences
- Understand IT terminology and industry standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field
- In lieu of a degree an additional two years of technical writing experience may be considered
Experience:
- Six years of experience as a technical writer in the IT field
- Experience creating RFPs and other IT technical documents for large organizations or government entities
- Strong background in writing documentation and manuals for diverse user groups
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to learn and communicate complex topics quickly
- Professional certification is a plus
- Familiarity with SQL Server Java APIs cloud computing stored procedures and Microsoft Datacenter
