Job Description Summary
This position provides clinical instruction for the Associate Degree and Practical Nursing programs. Clinicals will be conducted in a variety of local clinical facilities and/or the AB Tech simulation lab. This position also engages in student advising and mentoring.
Duties
1. Maintains mastery of subject matter. 2. Conducts clinical in various clinical areas between 27 36 hours/week. Schedule may include Saturdays. 3. Advises students and mentors students 4. Adheres to policies procedures expectations and practices of the College the department and discipline. 5. Communicates clearly with students other faculty and staff. 6. Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment. 7. Enforces Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct. 8. Assists with program reviews program accreditation and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate. 9. Attends meetings and events and actively participates on committees and taskforces. 10. Attends the annual commencement ceremony. 11. Upholds the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. 12. Supports diversity in all aspects. 13. Maintains continued competency as required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and completes continuing education as required by the college 14. Maintains unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. 15. Upholds the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. 16. Supports diversity in all aspects. 17. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Masters Degree in Nursing Education or have education in teaching and learning principles for adult education including curriculum development implementation and evaluation. The preparation may be demonstrated by: completion of 45 contact hours of Boardapproved continuing education courses completion of a certificate program in nursing education nine semester hours of graduate course work in adult leaning and learning principles national certification in nursing education documentation of successful completion of structured individualized development activities of at least 45 contact hours approved by the NC BON . 2. Ability to conduct acute care or pediatric clinical at Mission Health. 3. Experience teaching at a community college. 4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
