Overview

The Director of Philanthropic Communications provides leadership for development and execution of a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy to elevate awareness of our primary fundraising priorities with the goal of advancing donor volunteer and friend support and recognition. This position will lead the strategy of direct response and marketing agencies ensuring the frequency of communication across all channels and audience for all campaigns. This position reports to the Senior Director of Philanthropic Strategy and Communications and serves as an integral part of the Philanthropy Department.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found nonimmune to measles mumps rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus diphtheria acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute communications strategies focused on our top fundraising priorities for all Philanthropy related marketing initiatives:

Responsible for ensuring effective and consistent messaging related to our top fundraising priorities across all communications including donor materials annual giving events online and digital channels major gifts and donor relations.

Ensure overall fundraising priority messaging strategy is communicated to all internal stakeholders within department and across hospital as appropriate.

Work with Hospital Leadership Chief Development Officer and the Senior Director of Philanthropy Communications to develop vision and strategy for how the top fundraising priorities will be positioned and communicated with donors.

Healthcare communications preferred to appropriately synthesize highly scientific information to determine if it would be applicable to donors and if so work with team to translate into easytounderstand donorfriendly language.

Lead the Fundraising Marketing and Communications Teams:

Build manage and mentor the team establishing strategy to best meet annual giving goals.

Ensure excellence and accuracy reviewing and project managing 500 content projects per year.

Work closely with communications team to determine topic areas that would resonate with donors to help guide the creation of Case Statements Proposals and presentations.

Oversee strategy of direct response and marketing agencies ensuring the frequency of communications across all channels and audience for all campaigns:

Lead decision making and strategy for our direct response and marketing agencies ensuring the frequency of communication across all channels and building our pipeline of donors through annual giving.

Work with Senior Director of Philanthropy Communications and Assistant Director of Direct Response Marketing to develop vision and strategy for how paid media and direct response marketing will build our pipeline of donors.

Fundraising communications and marketing experience preferred as this role is responsible for Annual Giving fundraising goal total number of donors goal # of new donors goal and all of the metrics/goals we set up associated with our agencies per individual campaign.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required plus 7 or more years experience. Digital Marketing experience required. Communications marketing and/or annual giving fundraising experience highly preferred. OR
  • Masters Degree Preferred plus above experience.
