On the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) team youll build software to enable Alexas capabilities everywhere in speakers appliances wearables robots and more! Were working with industry leaders to seamlessly integrate Alexa into any and all devices. Key job responsibilities
You will lead the design development testing and deployment of cross team projects meet with stakeholders drive execution and mentor junior engineers. You will be an independent technical leader capable of working on your own and guiding team members to navigate complex problems. In this role you will lead and architect Alexaenabled devices. You will influence architecture across the Alexa ecosystem and play a pivotal role in designing the future of Alexa 3P devices. You will lead projects to streamline team processes and create mechanisms to effectively deliver projects
A day in the life
You will be the technical leader responsible for design development and operations. You will brainstorm new ideas and work on forward looking architectures and design with Principal Engineers and other Senior Software Engineers. You will architect analyze design develop test and deploy software features and fix defects. You will participate and lead in sprint planning and daily scrum break down technical work identify technical blockers and navigate solutions. You will mentor team members. You will partner with your managers other technical leaders across the org to achieve a desired technical consensus. You will author docs to communicate vision proposals and designs.
About the team
AVS Organization is chartered to enable Alexa outside of Amazon manufactured devices. Our team is responsible for building and evolving Alexa experience in all of partner devices. This is an opportunity to provide leadership and drive programs to build an innovative Alexa experience impacting billions of customers and devices. We are starting up India site in 2022 with exciting roadmap of innovation and scale.
The teams in India will independently own and deliver end to end products for partners and Alexa customers. The India team will consist of Product Managers Technical Program Managers Principal Engineer QA Engineers and Software Development Managers.
5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
