Salary National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from 72100 to 90000 and London 79300 to 99000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

This role is within the Financial Promotions & Enforcement Taskforce (FPET) which is a department that straddles the FCAs regulatory perimeter. The department has a wide remit covering both authorised and unauthorised activities in all sectors.
FPETs overarching role is to reduce harm arising from unauthorised activity scams fraud and breaches of the Financial Promotions Order by unauthorised entities. Prevent scams and highrisk nonstandard investments where authorised firms are involved in the production and distribution of products. While monitoring unregulated activity conducted by authorised firms that has the potential to cause significant customer harm and financial loss.
What will you be doing
Working collaboratively with management and teams across FPET to advise on industry and policy developments as well as cases related to crypto asset financial promotions across authorised and unauthorised firms. This may include individual firm cases multifirm projects adhoc queries and industry initiatives
Provide leadership to the Perimeter Teams crypto asset project team on cases related to unauthorised firms
Lead Financial Promotions & Enforcement Taskforce engagement with other department on matters related to crypto asset financial promotions and the regulatory perimeter particularly crypto asset supervision authorisations and policy
Provide technical expertise and input into the development of the future crypto asset regulatory regime particularly around the regulatory perimeter
Providing deep subject matter expertise on topics and issues relating to crypto assets financial promotions and the regulatory perimeter
Create and build relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders in this field including representing the department in crossFCA or industry forums

Minimum
Prior experience of blockchain crypto asset business models and the risks in those models
Prior experience of delivering complex analytical work drawing on insights and intelligence from data to understand risks and reach robust judgements
Prior experience of supporting training and coaching others
Essential
Strong understanding of the crypto asset financial promotions regime
Knowledge of investments (particularly nonstandard investments) wholesale and retail markets and financial promotions
Strong knowledge of the regulatory perimeter and tools for tackling firms breaching the perimeter
Teamwork collaboration and stakeholder management ability to build strong working relationships with others as part of a team to achieve desired outcomes
Judgement Ability to think clearly analytically and rigorously about how best to assess and validate risks of harm and reach robust riskbased judgements including under pressure
Organisational ability Ability to work under pressure manage a variety of competing work streams and issues and prioritise accordingly
Good understanding of conduct risk consumer behaviour and the drivers of potential harm and poor consumer outcomes
Excellent communication skills both written and oral ability to communicate key messages and explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels
