GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students.

This position includes a variety of tasks involving the daytoday operation of a department or division. Incumbents should also be flexible and capable of working under pressure. The position relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business details by performing the listed essential duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or Certificate of Proficiency in office occupations preferred. One or more years of related office experience and/or training strongly recommended. Must possess excellent computer skills strong communication and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Assist students with the admissions process for dual credit/enrollment.

Process admissions applications for dual credit/enrollment.

Review and process dual credit/enrollment paperwork.

Ensure that admissions requirements have been met by applicants.

Perform data input and maintain database information for dual credit/enrollment.

Update dual credit/enrollment students records.

Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.

Maintain confidential files of students.

Complete process of moving dual credit applicant to student.

Register dual credit students into requested course(s).

Perform other duties that may be assigned by the appropriate authority.

Maintain knowledge of diversityrelated issues legislation and best practices.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and the employee is occasionally required to perform job responsibilities in the outdoors and off site.
