As a Commercial Contracts Specialist (Signaling) you will collaborate with internal teams including legal procurement and project management to draft negotiate and finalize supplier contracts ensuring compliance with company policies and confidentiality requirements. This position manages the entire contract lifecycle from tracking amendments and renewals to ensuring proper filing and accessibility of documents. This role involves monitoring contract compliance preparing executive summaries and providing ongoing reports to key stakeholders. This role will also develop and deliver internal training to promote contract protocol awareness act as the liaison for contractrelated inquiries and assist with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests by handling redactions and ensuring legal compliance. Additionally continuously evaluate and improve contract management and FOIA response processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to relevant laws. Key Activities - Collaborate with the designated representatives from legal department to draft and finalize contract templates ensuring that key commercial and legal terms are properly reflected in the final documents.
- Negotiate applicable contracts to target completion date in a timely manner with new and existing suppliers ensuring agreements are aligned with the companys confidentiality legal and project goal requirements.
- Maintain a structured and uptodate database of contracts ensuring that documents are easily retrievable for future reference.
- Ensure version control of contracts and maintain accurate records of contract amendments renewals and expirations.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle including tracking amendments renewals and expirations ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible in the contract management system.
- Create clear concise summaries of contract negotiations and discussions highlighting key terms obligations timelines and deliverables.
- Regularly report to designated department representatives on compliance metrics including any suppliers missing contracts the status of ongoing negotiations upcoming contract expirations and any risks associated with noncompliance.
- Collaborate with the designated representatives from legal department to draft and finalize contract templates.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions including timelines budgets and quality standards and address any discrepancies and enforce contract obligations.
Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Business Law Engineering Supply Chain or related field or at least eight (8) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree preferably in railway signaling CBTC or transportation infrastructure. Masters degree is a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in negotiations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations in a constructive and professional manner.
- Strong analytical and independent problemsolving skills.
- Proven experience managing complex negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to manage largescale projects from initiation to completion
- Strong background in procurement negotiations supplier management and contract structuring for complex rail systems
- Understanding of railway signaling industry in particular CBTC or related systems
- Experience with rail safety cybersecurity railway procurement regulations public and private contracts and system reliability standards for railway automation projects
- Proven track record in procurement processes integration challenges and lifecycle costs
- Ability to negotiate highvalue contracts and through efficient dispute resolutions
- Knowledge of corporate legal requirements related to procurement and contracting
- Expertise in contract terms performance metrics and project risk assessment
- Strong computer proficiency including Office Suite
- Fluent in English both verbal and written; German is a plus
