QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in School Counseling Counseling Psychology or Social Work
Successful experience in counseling schoolage students preferred
POSITION SUMMARY
The (Position Title) will cultivate positive and productive relationships with students and leverage these connections to foster full engagement in the learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in advocacy crisis intervention/response peer mediation consultation counseling and behavior intervention.
DISTRICT AND SCHOOL PRIORITY ALIGNMENT
Align actions with district and school values and core priorities; policies & procedures; vision and mission statements.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop meaningful and personalized relationships with all assigned students.
Collaborate with school staff families and community partners to offer proactive support and responsive assistance to students facing emotional educational cultural personal social and/or mental challenges with the aim of promoting student wellbeing and success in both school and life.
Conduct home visits to promote collaborative partnerships and work with community stakeholders to identify and address student needs.
Consult and follow up with administrators teachers and caregivers regarding individual students.
Promote high achievement expectations for all students and reinforce schoolspecific rules expectations and rewards consistently and enthusiastically.
Attend meetings and/or court sessions as necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and accurate data/records.
Monitor student progress and provide monthly updates to supervisors.
Cultivate relationships with community members to connect students with necessary resources.
Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance.
Maintain an appropriate professional appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Adhere to the professional Code of Ethics.
Knowledge of: Diverse student populations strategic planning and time management motivational techniques for students and staff and components of effective teams.
Ethical standards and confidentiality protocols (ASCA NASW ACA etc.).
Maintain professionalism in all interactions. Travel between schools as required.
Work patiently and effectively with students. Collaborate as part of a team to address student needs. Motivate and collaborate with diverse groups. Budget time and resources efficiently. Manage human and physical resources effectively. Communicate accurately professionally and effectively both orally and in writing. Support a positive school climate.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office/Google applications.
Capacity to multitask and achieve deadlines.
Strong organizational project management and problemsolving skills.
Analyze situations accurately and adopt a practical course of action.
Efficiently operate office equipment and maintain records and files according to policies and procedures.
