This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multidiscipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide. The graduate FPGA engineer will work as part of a cross functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions.

The successful candidate will be a selfmotivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problemsolving skills understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.

We expect that the successful candidate will have an electronics degree but have a keen interest and passion for FPGAs and VHDL and who wants to extend their knowledge and skills in this area.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Honours Degree 2:1 in Electronics or related subject
  • Relevant work experience in a similar engineering role would be an advantage

Basic Skills/Experience

The candidate should have a reasonable knowledge and understanding of:

  • Embedded microprocessor microcontroller and FPGA based design
  • Digital and Analogue electronics
  • Schematic capture tools
  • FPGA (Verilog/VHDL) design
  • FPGA test benches.
  • Use of Xilinx Intel or Lattice devices.
  • Create test specifications and reports

Additional Skills/Experience (preferred but not essential)

  • Basic understanding of stepper motor and DC motor control
  • Basic understanding of sensors and sensing technologies
  • Understanding of highspeed digital interfaces (e.g. DDR LVDS)
  • An interest in mechanical and electronic systems and devices
  • Practical soldering proficiency including SMT components
  • Use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes logic analyzer signal generator multimeter
  • Cadence schematic capture tools
