Job Description

Overview

i3 is seeking a Mid Level Cybersecurity Engineer who will Design implement and maintain secure cyber systems to protect an organizations information and assets from cyber threats. The candidate will conduct scans and remediations to meet governmental compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate technical evaluations software applications full system or network and documenting the security posture capabilities and vulnerabilities against applicable JSIG controls.
  • Selecting and implementing security controls timely completion of accreditation packages formulating and implementing mitigations and maintaining the security posture of systems.
  • Identify assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout a systems lifecycle validate system security requirements formulate and maintain documentation and system certification and accreditation activities (planning testing assessing and coordinating).
  • Documenting preliminary or residual security risks for system operation & manage and approve Authorization Packages.
  • Monitoring and evaluating a systems compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security resilience and dependability requirements including performing validation steps comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the differences to identify impact and risks at the software application system and network levels.
  • Work with team to provide solutions and to ensure continued functionality of systems within DoD RMF Framework.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field is required. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • 27 years of relevant experience.
  • Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the Cybersecurity Domain.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with implementing and evaluating DoD STIG requirements JSIG RMF IAVMs and Cybersecurity assessment tools (ACAS Nessus SCC STIG Viewer).
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and JSIG security controls.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cybersecurity.
  • Minimum 8570 IASAE I Certification (i.e. CISSP or CASP).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. MondayFriday however additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
