Position Overview

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Supervisor position may include the following as well as other duties assigned:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Programs mission values and philosophies.
  • Provide administration coordination for program contracts while aggressively seeking the growth and expansion in the local market(s) through relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Sign off on all Incident Reports and other required reports as well as submitting the reports for processing according to agency policy.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with personnel policies and the programs fiscal guidelines; Work collaboratively with other NYAP programs and staff throughout the organization.
  • Assign mediation services when authorized and regularly review the progress and status of the case(s).
  • Coordinate all intake services initial paperwork and documentation; Recruit mediator volunteers for the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
  • CWCM certification or licensing certificationas required and acceptable by state or contract regulations.
  • Two years direct experience in the field of human services.
  • Must have relevant experience working with individuals being served through the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system.
  • Must be knowledgeable of group facilitation/mediation practices and principles.
  • Must have a good driving record and ability to obtain 100000/300000 bodily injury car insurance as required by agency.
  • Training education and/or experience related to the following:
    • Family facilitation mediation and/or conflict resolution.
    • Strengths based assessment and planning.
    • Communication and ability to relate to diverse groups and manage interpersonal conflict.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers smart phones and tablets printers fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing spreadsheet and database programs.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
  • Some travel is required.
  • Must be open and willing to work nontraditional work hours as well as oncall responsibilities.
  • Must be able to embrace working as a diverse team both effectively and respectfully with persons of any background race color religion sexual orientation ability national origin or culture.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Must possess good verbal listening and written communication skills.
