Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant will play a key role in managing the university cost accounting processes including budgeting cost analysis internal reporting and financial monitoring. This position ensures that all financial operations align with institutional goals regulatory standards and best practices in educational finance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monitor and analyze budgets across departments and projects.
- Track and report on actual expenditures versus allocated budgets.
- Conduct cost analysis to evaluate the efficiency and financial performance of academic and administrative units.
- Assist in developing cost control procedures and improving financial systems.
- Prepare periodic financial reports variance analyses and performance dashboards for management review.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate financial forecasting and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies audit requirements and local financial regulations.
- Support annual financial audits by providing necessary documentation and data.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions related to cost centers and projects.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; Masters degree is preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPA CMA or ACCA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or financial analysis preferably in an educational or nonprofit organization.
- Professional certification of SOCPA is advantage.
- Strong understanding of Saudi GAAP VAT regulations and government financial guidelines.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle & SAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Fluency in Arabic is required; English language proficiency is an advantage.
