Job Description

Amazon Payments Payouts team is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform our global payouts architecture. As we advance into the next generation of payouts capabilities were seeking an exceptional Engineering Leader to join us in revolutionizing how Amazon handles payouts worldwide. Were looking for someone who can thrive in Amazons fastpaced innovative culture. You should be comfortable with ambiguity able to think big while staying connected to details and have a strong sense of ownership. Your ability to balance technical depth with business acumen will be crucial in this role.

In this role youll be at the forefront of modernizing our Payments APIs and developing payout systems that serve millions of Amazons sellers vendors and partners globally. This isnt just about maintaining existing systems its about reimagining and rebuilding critical financial infrastructure that will power Amazons worldwide payout capabilities for years to come. Were looking for someone who brings both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities. Youll drive product direction shape roadmap planning and lead project execution while hiring and developing talented engineers to deliver innovative solutions. Key job responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership
Architect and oversee the development of highperformance payment processing systems
Drive the adoption of best practices in software development including CI/CD testing and code quality
Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications

2. Team Management
Lead mentor and grow a team of skilled software engineers
Foster a culture of innovation continuous learning and technical excellence
Manage team performance set goals and conduct regular reviews

3. Project Management
Drive the planning and execution of complex multiphase projects
Manage resources timelines and deliverables to ensure project success
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives

4. Strategic Planning
Contribute to the longterm technical vision for Amazon Payments
Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the fintech space


3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
