The Mauril app is a free digital platform leveraging a wide range of stimulating and entertaining content from CBC/RadioCanada to help users learn French and English. Financed and endorsed by the Government of Canada this new tool is designed and deployed by CBC/RadioCanada in collaboration with an advisory committee of pedagogical experts. Its meant to help improve oral comprehension and incorporate language knowledge into everyday life.

What will your role be

As an Educational Technology Specialist at Mauril youll define and implement the educational vision for the app aligning with the products strategic goals. Youll identify and assess opportunities for educational innovation incorporating current trends and best practices in the field. Youll also develop strategic recommendations based on data analysis and user feedback to continuously improve learning outcomes.

Youll be the goto person for educational expertise advising teams and ensuring the educational quality of content and learning pathways. Acting as a nexus between educational needs and tech solutions youll lead the design and implementation of engaging and effective language learning experiences that help students progress. Additionally youll oversee a team of educational writers in both French and English as a second language.

What will your responsibilities be

Educational Vision and Strategy:

  • Define and implement Maurils educational vision in line with the products strategic goals learner needs and technical considerations.

  • Collaborate on the development of objectives (OKRs) and measure and analyze the performance of implemented educational strategies using data and feedback.

  • Act an educational technology consultant for the project team and other stakeholders.

Educational Design and Development:

  • Design develop and implement effective educational strategies and solutions translating educational requirements into concrete action plans and clear specifications for the relevant teams.

  • Analyze learners learning paths segmenting them and understanding the factors that influence learner progress in order to make recommendations for improvement.

  • Work closely with the digital strategist to ensure the smooth integration of educational and digital strategies.

  • Participate in discovery and brainstorming sessions with the team to create innovative educational solutions.

Educational Technology Monitoring:

  • Continuously monitor educational technology to identify trends best practices and technologies that enhance language learning in an applied setting and the production of educational content.

Team and Deliverables Management:

  • Manage and supervise a team of educational writers (French and English as a second language) to ensure the creation and production of educational content that meets established criteria and guidelines.

  • Manage educational deliverables in coordination with the digital team ensuring that milestones and quality requirements are met and that content aligns with learning objectives and educational standards; optimize workflows as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Masters degree (or equivalent graduate diploma) in education educational technology or a related field or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent

  • Seven (7) or more years relevant experience in digital learning

  • Significant experience in educational technology learning path design managing educational teams producing educational materials and project management in a digital teaching context

  • Experience with applied learning is an asset

  • Proficient knowledge of Google Workspace; knowledge of Miro and Jira is an asset

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and French
