OPS Teacher (Upward Bound Math & Science)
The University of Floridas Upward Bound Math & Science Program is seeking a highly motivated and experienced teacher to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for teaching high school mathematics laboratory science language arts social studies or ACT preparation to high school students.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach high school mathematics (through calculus) laboratory science (through physics) language arts (through 12th grade) social studies or ACT preparation.
- Develop students proficiency in math science and reading through interactive and engaging instruction.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies including cooperative learning and technologybased instruction.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
$25$28/hour
- Bachelors degree in education math science English or a related field.
- Experience working with high school students.
- Must be available on Saturdays during the academic year and for the Summer STEM Institute.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Experience teaching in a precollege program.
- Experience incorporating handson and inquirybased learning.
- Familiarity with standardized test preparation (ACT/SAT).
This is a parttime position. Availability on Saturdays during the academic year and for the Summer STEM Institute is required.
