ABOUT THE COURT
Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Courts 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4800 fulltime Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. Located in Southern California Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nations largest counties covering 4752 square miles and with overresidents is also one of its most populous counties.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Financial Analysts perform complex analyses and studies on a wide range of financial budgetary rate setting and other organizational issues in support of the planning and execution of Court goals and objectives including the development analysis and execution of the Courts annual budget and forecasting and monitoring of revenues and/or expenditures. They are expected to define and apply appropriate study methodologies utilize sound analytical tools and techniques and apply accepted project planning and management practices on largescale projects to ensure timely achievement of goals and objectives. TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES
This position is eligible for partial telework following an initial training period contingent upon the Courts needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify applicants must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
Option I:Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with a major in business administration public administration finance or a closely related field* AND one (1) year of progressively responsible experience involving financial accounting and management analysis economic forecasting financial planning and/or implementation or governmental budget and finance analysis.
Option II:One (1) yearof progressively responsible experience involving financial accounting and management analysis economic forecasting financial planning and/or implementation or governmental budget and finance analysis AND four (4) years of recent experience performing analytical work in support of accounting financial statistical contract budget or other management analyses.
*EDUCATION VERIFICATION FOR OPTION I:
To receive credit A legible copy of your college diploma OR official transcripts with the degree posted from the college or university must be submitted when your application is filed. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:- Experience in a public agency preferably with Government accounting and accounting systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; with all levels of staff including external departments and outside agencies.
- Knowledge of Court financial accounting statutory requirements budget policies practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience using Excel SharePoint SAP Oracle Access Microsoft Power BI Tableau Visual Basic and financial management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority assignments.
- Strong budgeting financial reporting and accounts reconciliation experience.
- Demonstrated attention to detail accuracy and precision.
- Experience with business process reengineering.
EXAMINATION INFORMATION:
Part I:Qualifying evaluation of education training and experience based upon submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire.
