A substantial part of the 200acre Viking Lakes mixeduse development this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul the Mall of America and airport with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices retail restaurants and entertainment.
The 320room luxury hotel features more than 35000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and prefunction space including a 7500squarefoot ballroom a 4410squarefoot event center and six twostory hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. Job Description
Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is seeking a Lead Steward. This team member will supervise the daytoday operation of the stewarding department for a given shift ensuring control and distribution of operating equipment maintenance of cleaning and sanitation standards supervision of all utility pot washer dishwasher and worker assignment tasks.

Salary for this position starts at (based on experience): $21.00/hour. Full Time Associates at Omni Viking Lakes are entitled to elect the following benefits: Medical Dental Vision and other healthcare benefits Paid Maternity Leave 401k and Paid Time Off Accrual. Responsibilities
- Determines work procedures prepares work schedules and expedites workflow
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
- Resolves associate issues
- Be able to read banquet menus and perform set up procedures
- Responsible for all personnel under his/her supervisor
- Responsible for the proper cleaning rack and distribution of all china silver and glassware.
- Maintains required standards of sanitation and cleanliness.
- Reviews and reinforces operating procedures with his/her shift.
- Minimize breakage of circulating equipment.
- Follow/enforce company policies and procedures.
- Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
- Following safety guidelines and proper usage of all cleaning chemicals before during and after usage which includes proper storage of all chemicals when not in use.
- Report at all times when kitchen equipment not in working order to a supervisor/manager assigned.
- Assist kitchen staff when needed.
- Complete cleanliness of all food and beverage areas at all times.
- Assist Stewarding Supervisor in organizing and maintaining all inventories of china glass & silver.
- Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 1 year minimum work related experience is required.
- Ability to communicate written and orally in English on an intermediate level.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.
- Demonstrate ability to lead by example.
- Experience training and developing employees with limited education/experience.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Excellent safety and sanitation skills.
- Create courteous friendly professional work environment.
- Must be able to work various shifts holidays and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time walk
- Ability to push pull stoop bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight.
- Good eye/hand coordination needed to use all stewarding equipment.
- Sufficient manual dexterity needed in hands to operate machinery and equipment as needed.
Working Environment:
- Interior of hotel in all Food and Beverage areas with exposure to humidity and extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
Tools & Equipment:
- Utility cart glass racks dollies gloves aprons glass racks flatware racks bus tub mop bucket mop broom dust pan inventory scale.
- Ware washer machine and chemicals.
- China flatware and glassware
